Heroes is baaaaack!

Whew, good episode. But Heroes is like chips, once you have one, you just want more. I’m not going to do a recap, you’ll find them all over the net, but I will highlight what I think are some important points and give my unworthy opinion.

A lot went on last night, and more questions came up than were answered. We saw what some of the Heroes are now up to 4 Months Later.

• Mohinder, HRG (Noah) and probably Parkman are working together to take down OWI (The Company). Mohinder says the virus will kill all of the “specials” if a cure is not found. I thought he WAS the cure! I am thinking that this is a ploy to attract OWI and not a case of the virus mutating to the point that his blood can no longer cure it. Molly is having intense dreams about the “Big Bad” where he says he can see her. My theory is that he is taking over OWI and is pushing (sic) out the old guard (see below).
• Mrs. Petrelli and Mr Nakamura both received pictures of themselves with the strange symbol that keeps popping up all over the place. They seem to believe that it means they have less than 24 hours to live. Near the end of the episode we see a shadowy figure in a hood (very Silar like) push Nakamura off of the roof of the Dexter building. This could be Silar, but I’m leaning towards this being Nathan Petrelli. We see him bump into Ando (love the hair) just before Ando give Nakamura a newspaper containing the photo. The problem in my theory is that I’m not sure if he hates his mother enough to kill her. We see them arguing and Nathan kicks her out of the apartment. Later Nathan seems in a very dark mood and he tells Claire on the phone that she needs to forget about him.
• Maya and Miguel (Oops, my kids have got me brainwashed), I mean Maya and Alejandro are interesting new characters that were introduced. Maya it seems, carries some kind of plague or virus that is released when she is threatened and kills everyone around her. Alejandro seems to be able to suppress this as long as he is near her. They are running from Central America towards the US to look for Mohinder’s father (they have his book) to see if he can cure Maya. I am looking forward to seeing where the writers will go with this. There are so many different ways their story can go. I have a bad feeling that this season’s “Big Bad” will find them before our Heroes do.
• The Bennett family is now in California and Claire is settling into a new school. Looks like her potential new beau can fly. Hmm, was Nathan in Cali about 16 or so years ago? (are particular special abilities inherited, or just the genes to have an ability?) Good question.
• Peter is found in a shipping container in Ireland by what looks like Irish mobsters. He has amnesia (that old gag) and has a medallion around his neck with the heroes symbol. Where has he been for 4 months? Did OWI have him? Were they running tests on him and then had the Haitian or someone like him take away his memory? Was it the new “Big Bad”? Is there someone else out there that is like OWI? So many questions.

Looks like we’ll be catching up with some of the other heroes next week according to the preview.
